Ladies

Welcome to our lively, friendly golf club!

The Ladies Section of Kirkcudbright Golf Club extends a very warm welcome to all visitors and new members.

This is some of the Lady Members enjoying our 2017 Residential outing to Dalmahoy

There are many good reasons to join Kirkcudbright Ladies:

A Great Course

With fantastic views over Kirkcudbright and the Dee Estuary, within our 18 hole parkland course we have two 9 hole designated courses.  These shorter measured courses can be used for handicapping purposes, so you can maintain your handicap without committing to being on the course for 4 hours at a time.

Getting Out Onto the Course

We are especially pleased to welcome new golfing members with a short induction to help them get the best from their membership.  We’ll take you through all you need to do to get out onto the course by taking you through the website members’ area, making bookings, getting your handicap, entering competitions, meeting up with other members to play with and so on.  We’ll even cover some of the rules and explain the different terms, playing formats and many opportunities for social golf and socialising that are available.

Competitive Sport

To qualify for a handicap, if not transferring from another club, you will be asked to submit scorecards from 3 x 18 hole rounds or a combination of 9 and 18 holes cards amounting to 54 holes.  These cards must be marked and signed by a “responsible” person, (someone with a Handicap).

Club Competitions

These are all detailed within the fixture booklet that is issued upon receipt of your annual subscription, listed in the online events calendar and pinned up in the Ladies’ changing room.

Ladies Day is Tuesday and we offer draw times throughout the day when we get together and draw for playing partners.  The format and rules of entry into competitions is explained in full via this link.  We also offer a series of competition Alternative Days, usually at the weekend, to accommodate individual circumstances.

Throughout the summer months we host Open competitions to encourage visiting players from other clubs. The format may be for individuals, or in pairs or teams of 3 or 4 players.  It may be match play, stroke play, Stableford for ladies only, or mixed (playing with one of the Gents Section).  Really we have something for everyone whether junior, senior or in between.

Home and Away

Our ladies play in local Galloway Ladies and Dumfries & Galloway Ladies leagues and tournaments.  Team members get the opportunity to play home and away fixtures against players from other local clubs in South West Scotland.  We also play a number of friendly matches.

Visitors

Members are entitled to sign in guests to the Clubhouse and onto the course for members’ guests rates.

Value for Money

If you need any more reasons to join then please look at our current membership packages.  Membership packages are available to suit every pocket and cater for everyone from those with time on their hands during mid-week to those with more limited time to spare.
