Want to try some friendly team games?

We play a selection of team games (such as Greensomes, 4-Ball Better Ball, Best 2 out of 3, Scramble etc) every Saturday year round, weather permitting.  We usually meet at 10.40 to decide format.

In the winter, you can play in the Winter League instead if you are more interested in individual competitive golf.

Competition Rules and Arrangements

All competitions are played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as laid down by The R&A and administered in accordance with the WHS Rules of Handicapping.  We have a guide to some of the most common and important rules here.
Local rules are displayed on the Club notice board and scorecards. Kirkcudbright Golf Club has a local rule permitting the use of Satellite Navigation or similar measuring device during Club or Open competitions.
Tied scores in a stroke play event will be resolved on the basis of the inward 9 holes. If players are still tied then the last 6, 3 and better last hole will be used to determine the winner.
Results will be published on Master Scoreboard; this is usually late evening after the last group have entered their scores. Handicap Indexes are recalculated by WHS overnight and are available the following morning on Master Scoreboard or Scottish Golf App.

Important reminders

No one wants unnecessary penalties or even disqualification!

• You must enter the competition by signing in before you start play – on Master Scoreboard (online or on the computer in the corridor) or at the office
• Make sure you know your current Handicap Index and Course Handicap
• Mark your ball clearly and take care not to hit the wrong one
• Agree scores with your partner and ensure your scorecard is completed correctly
